Customer Development Intern

The What:

During my internship at Unilever on the Customer Development desk, along the different data projects I worked on, the most notable project that impacted the business was when I conducted a comprehensive search term deep dive on Walmart.ca to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in product visibility and accuracy from search results.

The How:

  • Keyword analysis: tested dozens of keyword combinations and variations to identify differences in search results

  • Data synthesis: summarized extensive search data into three actionable findings to highlight accuracy issues

  • Insight delivery: delivered a clear, concise presentation to the Walmart site experience team in order to increase exposure of products to consumers

The Other Projects:

  • Process optimization & system design: designed a new tracker for innovation products to improve reporting efficiency; created a golden standard for item attributes

  • Data analysis & insights: analyzed price and promotion performance data for deodorants to guide management decisions; monitored competitive activity on Amazon to inform eCommerce strategy

  • Market research & strategic alignment: collaborated with the Marketing team to research historical Walmart shopper marketing initiatives and analyze completed campaigns to identify opportunities for share growth

Customer Strategy & Planning Intern

The What:

In my current internship as the Customer Strategy & Planning Intern, I am supporting the Personal Care team, Unilever Canada’s largest business, taking on a plethora of responsibilities and working cross-functionally with the Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain departments.

The How:

  • Cost management: track and manage costs under the Trade Marketing budget for the Personal Care portfolio

  • Inventory allocation optimization: identify opportunities in the business to allocate inventory across key markets to maximize volume and maintain client relationships

  • Innovation launch support: oversee financial processes for new product launches, ensuring accurate forecasting and resource allocation
